The Tiger roars !!! Loud and Clear ..

I was an ardent fan of Sourav Ganguly a few years back. But now I have become a fanatic!! His comeback might have come as a surprise to many. Even though I wanted him to make a come back I had accepted at the bottom of my heart that I won't see this legendary southpaw in action again. Man, I was proved wrong. Over and again. In every match he has played since the SA tour, he has mocked me with his innings. He might not be technically correct like Dravid or mind blowingly flamboyant like Sehwag.Nevertheless he is a delight to watch when he is confident!! These days, he plays not just his signature off drives but has scored a good amount of runs on the leg side as well. Not to mention the significant improvement in running between the wickets and more importantly, temperament. The Ganguly I knew earlier would have glared at Chappel's direction after completing 50 in his comeback test.He would have at least pounded his fist into the air! But he has matured beyond recognition...I guess each one of us needs to fail badly at least once so that we do an honest self analysis and weed out our negatives. Coming back, he is a huge source of inspiration to me at this point of time. His success has given me immense personal satisfaction and confidence for reasons I don't understand. I shudder to think of the damage his self esteem would have undergone during the last year. Its never easy to make a comeback when each and every action of yours is under microscope; When people find frivolous reasons to chide you like"He does not use the same brand of mineral water as others. This shows his lack of team spirit." or "He sits in the corner seat of the team bus and looks outside during the journey. He does not communicate effectively with the team mates." etc.

The come back is amazing. Its miraculous! Its legendary! The greatest joy of life is proving everyone that you can do it when they say no.Hats off to him!!!!

Its not just him. This week had a plenty of comebacks in sports.Serena Williams made a gala out of the Australian open.Tiger Woods had a good season.I keep my eyes open for such rare occurrences. For there is a lesson to be learnt from each one of them. Robert Bruce may be a myth. But these guys walk and talk the way I do.If they can, I can. You can. Guys, never forget the story of Indian cricket and Sourav Ganguly. It may come in handy when you fall short of inspiration.
